four season's hotel florence.

when drooling over hotel room decor photos I always look at the walls and windows to see how the designer executed the two as one continuous design.

inspiring surface designer

Casey Gunschel was a faux painter who found her calling in the wallpaper industry. What inspires me most about her work is that all her patterns are hand drawn, she says it works to her advantage because everybody does it digitally. It took her 2 years to get her portfolio to a hand-screening studio,a Los.Angeles based store specializing in chic modern design picked her line which led to a feature on new york times. She received 500 emails overnight and suddenly was in business. Her wall papers are on palacepapers.com

inspiring surface designers.

Josephine kimberling is a textile artist/fashion designer with a new line of fabrics out with Kaufman. She illustrates her prints on paper first the finesses them on illustrator.Design sponge featured her on how she started and she had this comment where she said that while illustrating about 10 years ago ,she always wondered if it would ever go further than that, look where she is now ,says alot about patience and persistence.Loving her sunset print collection and grateful for the insight she gave to all the creative people out there.Print and pattern features her today.
